1. What Is Luxuria Jewellery? — Brand & Trust

What is Luxuria Jewellery and who owns it?

Luxuria Jewellery® is a luxury diamond simulant jewellery brand owned by Stylabs Jewellery, a corporate entity registered with the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) of Singapore. Originally founded in Wellington, New Zealand in 2013, the brand quickly expanded into high-street jewellery stores before pivoting to a global online-first model.

Luxuria products are manufactured in the Gemopolis Jewellery Industry Zone near Bangkok, Thailand — the same production hub used by global brands such as Pandora®. Today, Luxuria ships to over 100 countries, with its largest markets being the United States (USA), Canada, the European Union (EU), and the United Kingdom (UK).

Is Luxuria Jewellery a reputable and legitimate business?

Yes. Luxuria Jewellery's legitimacy is established through multiple independent verifications:

What is the Luxuria Jewellery brand philosophy?

The name LUXURIA is Latin for lust, and in modern usage means extravagance, luxury, and thriving condition. The brand's core belief: people should be moved by jewellery — inspired, and in love with an object that speaks to them intimately.

Luxuria's founding promise is affordable luxury: engagement rings with the look and feel of fine jewellery worth thousands of dollars, typically retailing at around US$100.

Why should I choose Luxuria Jewellery?

Luxuria's value proposition rests on three pillars:

  • Quality — Only the highest-grade diamond simulants, top-rated in cut, colour, and clarity. LUX hallmark rings use stones that surpass industry standards for grade 5A cubic zirconia.
  • Support — 90-day warranty against defects and a 30-day right-of-return policy.
  • Value — Exquisitely presented fine jewellery aesthetics at a fraction of the cost of natural diamond rings.

Luxuria value proposition

2. Diamond Simulants & Stone Quality

What diamond simulant does Luxuria Jewellery use?

Luxuria Jewellery uses a range of stones depending on the product line:

  • Cubic Zirconia (CZ) — the primary stone used in most Luxuria rings
  • Moissanite — used in selected lines
  • Natural gemstones — including semi-precious stones and, in some products, natural diamonds
  • Crystal — used in certain designs
What is cubic zirconia (CZ)?

Cubic zirconia (CZ) is a synthetic crystalline substance used as an alternative to diamonds. It is a cubic form of zirconium oxide created in a laboratory — not a natural mineral. Key properties:

  • Hardness: 8.5 on the Mohs Scale of Hardness
  • Appearance: Optically flawless, usually colourless, highly transparent
  • Refractive properties: Diamond-like brilliance and fire
  • Versatility: Can be faceted into virtually any cut and produced in almost any colour

CZ's popularity as a diamond simulant comes from its brilliance, clarity, low cost, and durability.

What grades of cubic zirconia does Luxuria use?

There are six industry grades of CZ — A (lowest) to 6A (highest). Luxuria Jewellery rings bearing the LUX hallmark use stones that surpass the standards for grade 5A, placing them at the top tier of the CZ quality spectrum.

LUX hallmark CZ stones are:

  • Near-colourless — equivalent to D colour on the diamond colour scale
  • Internally flawless
  • Ideal cut — Hearts and Arrows pattern for maximum fire and brilliance

Without sophisticated gemological testing equipment, even an expert jeweller or gemologist cannot distinguish a well-cut, high-grade CZ from a real diamond to the naked eye.

What is the Hearts and Arrows cut, and why does it matter?

Luxuria LUX hallmark rings with round stones use a Star Cut, precision-cut to produce the Eight Hearts and Eight Arrows (H&A) optical pattern when viewed through a special viewer.

This pattern is typically only found in natural diamonds that meet the American Gem Society Laboratories' "0" Ideal Cut specifications — the highest possible cut grade.

Why it matters: The H&A pattern is the result of precise facet alignment. Greater optical precision produces sparkle that is larger in size, brighter, and more vivid. Light performance is maximised, resulting in superior brilliance compared to lower-grade cuts.

What is the difference between a diamond simulant and a synthetic diamond?

This is one of the most frequently misunderstood distinctions in jewellery:

TermDefinition
Diamond SimulantLooks like a diamond but does not share diamond's chemical or physical properties. Examples: cubic zirconia, moissanite, white topaz.
Synthetic / Lab-Created DiamondChemically, physically, and optically identical to a natural diamond — pure carbon. Also called: cultured, cultivated, man-made, or lab-grown diamond.

Luxuria Jewellery primarily uses diamond simulants (mainly CZ). These are distinct from lab-grown diamonds, which, while grown in a laboratory, are chemically true diamonds.

Can cubic zirconia dull or get cloudy over time?

Modern high-grade CZ does not cloud the way early-generation cubic zirconia did. Early CZ was a porous material that easily absorbed body oils, causing it to haze quickly. Modern CZ is vastly improved.

That said, like any gemstone — including natural diamond — CZ can dull if not cleaned regularly. Common causes of dullness are residues from:

  • Sweat and body oils
  • Soap and lotion
  • Hairspray and perfume
  • Makeup

Regular cleaning restores brilliance. See the Ring Care section for cleaning instructions.

3. Ring Materials & Craftsmanship

What metal is used for Luxuria ring bands?

Most Luxuria Jewellery rings are crafted in rhodium-plated 925 sterling silver.

What is 925 sterling silver? Fine silver (99.9% pure) is too soft for functional jewellery. Sterling silver is an alloy of 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metals (typically copper), which improves strength and elasticity while preserving the beauty of the precious metal. The standard millesimal fineness is 925.

Luxuria never hollows out rings to cut costs — a common industry shortcut that compromises durability. Luxuria rings are comparatively heavier, reflecting solid construction.

What is rhodium plating and why is it used?

Rhodium is a member of the platinum group of metals and one of the most expensive metals in the world. It is shiny, white, highly reflective, and extremely durable — often used as a hardening agent for platinum.

Rhodium plating is applied to Luxuria rings to:

  • Prevent scratches and tarnish — extends the life and appearance of the ring
  • Improve colour quality — adds a brilliant white lustre
  • Protect against metal allergies — rhodium is hypoallergenic, reducing the risk of skin reactions

Nearly all Luxuria® cubic zirconia engagement rings are rhodium plated.

Where are Luxuria Jewellery products manufactured?

Luxuria products are crafted in the Gemopolis Jewellery Industry Zone, located outside Bangkok in southern Thailand. Gemopolis is a world-renowned jewellery manufacturing hub where other global jewellery brands — including Pandora® — also produce their collections.

4. Choosing the Right Ring

Why propose with a cubic zirconia engagement ring instead of a diamond?

CZ engagement rings have surged in popularity for several compelling reasons:

  1. Surprise proposals — No need to ask anyone for ring advice; you can propose without risking spoiling the surprise.
  2. Eliminates financial risk — Spending thousands on a diamond ring without knowing her taste is a significant gamble. A CZ ring lets you propose without that risk.
  3. Shop together afterwards — Once she says yes, you can choose the forever ring together — ensuring she gets exactly what she loves.
  4. Travel-friendly — No costly insurance required. No heartbreak if lost or stolen while travelling.
  5. Outstanding value — High-grade CZ is an exceptional visual substitute for diamond at a fraction of the price.

How do I know which ring style suits her?

Two key factors to consider:

  • Stone shape → Match to her finger shape and proportions
  • Stone cut → Match to her personality and style

Luxuria has published detailed guidance on both factors. Consider:

  • Does she prefer classic and timeless, or modern and geometric?
  • What jewellery does she already own and wear?
  • What is her lifestyle — does she work with her hands?

How do I find the correct ring size?

The most reliable method:

  1. Visit a local jeweller — Borrow one of her existing rings (that fits the intended finger) and have a jeweller measure it. Ask specifically for the US ring size, as Luxuria uses US measurements.
  2. Measure at home — Measure the internal diameter of one of her existing rings in millimetres and cross-reference with a standard US ring size chart.

Tips:

  • Fingers are slightly larger in warm weather and at the end of the day.
  • If between sizes, size up rather than down.
  • Most Luxuria rings can be resized by a local jeweller (up or down at least one full size).

5. Ring Care & Maintenance

How should I care for my Luxuria Jewellery ring?

Proper care significantly extends the life and brilliance of your ring.

Always remove your ring before:

  • Swimming, bathing, or showering
  • Applying hair products, lotions, soaps, or perfume
  • Doing housework — particularly washing dishes or hand-washing laundry
  • Gardening or exercising (gym, weightlifting, etc.)

Storage: Store jewellery pieces separately to prevent scratching one another.

Cleaning: The recommended cleaning methods are:

  1. Ultrasonic cleaner (preferred) — Use a home ultrasonic machine with its included cleaning solution.
  2. Lukewarm soapy water — Soak for approximately 10 minutes, then gently brush with a soft toothbrush. Clean the underside of stones to restore sparkle. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry with a lint-free cloth.

⚠️ Do NOT use silver liquid cleaner on rhodium-plated jewellery. It is too harsh and will dull or damage the rhodium plating.
